interview, Patrick Allen did with Katie Wood Ray on her new book In Pictures and Words. Patrick clearly thought through his questions in preparation and Katie's answers are honest and sincere. Here is my review of

I cannot wait to see this!! I am reading this book right now and love it! I teach kindergarten and always start the year with more of an "illustrator's workshop" and I am loving her new book. I was already a big fan. Her book, About the Authors, is one of my favorite! Thanks for posting this!

Thanks for sharing the interview (and thanks for sending me to Patrick's blog, I hadn't seen it before). Melanie's discussion of "illustrator's workshop" reminds me to pull out "Talking, Drawing, and Writing" by Martha Horn & Mary Ellen Giacobbe...another great professional book for working with young writers.
