Sweetness Enjoyed!
Today I found myself stopping and noticing while making Chocolate No Bake Cookies. My mom use to make these and I remember thinking these were magical because they didn't go in the oven and could be ready quickly. I'm discovering writing in my notebook is so helpful and then as I type up my thoughts, I might go back and add something to my notebook.

I always loved No Bake cookies! One of the tings I really miss since I can no longer eat peanut butter.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite childhood cookies too! I think my mom taught me how to make these because I didn't have to use the oven. Yum ... now I want some too. May need to dig out the recipe and make some with my girls tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYum - a sweet memory in deed!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I have never mastered the "No-Bake." I never know if they will be runny or grainy, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
ReplyDeleteThe secret is margarine - nothing else sets them up just perfect! Give it a try.
DeleteI never heard of them! I will get a recipe today - how cool! Love that you are slicing and baking -- these simple things often conjure the best memories!

What? Never heard of them - you've had them, I'm sure. Maybe out east they are called something else.
DeleteFirst of all, yum!! How lucky your family is to have you bake sweet things for them.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I love how much you are stopping to notice and observe. Great writing stems from that ability.
You know, I have never made No Bake cookies. I think I might try to do it with my daughter! They are yum. I like how the ingredients intermingle with the other text about this childhood favorite cookie.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I have so many Girl Scout cookies that no baking is necessary. When I do bake, no-bakes are one of my favorites. Wait, can I call a no-bake baking? Interesting you find margarine the secret as I swear by butter. We are going to have to chat about this.

Butter? I know when I tried a lighter butter they didn't set. Maybe you have a new plan for me with a new batch...well, calling them a stove top cookie sounds yicky!
