horizon line
medium blue blanket of clouds
pink and orange brighten the sky
medium blue blanket of cloud
creating a sandwich of the day ending
trees in the distance become silhouettes of the season
brightness brings
hope for another day
a peaceful way to end this day
I find myself wondering all day long what will strike me for a slice and when I try to force it, the words don't really come. Tonight I was driving home from picking up my daughter and my view of twilight started a flurry of words and phrases in my head.

What a beautiful drive home and now captured in your words...
ReplyDeleteI worry too, some days, what to write in my slice. Many times when I least expect it, an idea comes. But I also have to be mindful to look for it. It seems you looked for it by observing the sunset. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteTrue...
ReplyDeleteAnd well done in the challenge of trying to capture twilight in words!
What a lovely and peaceful description of twilight!
ReplyDeleteFinding moments to put into words is a gift you have. Love the blanket and sandwich and how perfectly they work together.
