Dusting off my writing spaces.
It's easy to get bogged down with a schedule, a plan or focus, the when and/or the how of writing. I often find myself spinning my wheels waiting for the moment to start or the just right date.
I have lots of ambitions. I love to share images from my classroom on Instagram. I like writing on Twitter to share professional things and ask questions of others to help me with my own thinking. My blog has brought me joy. I have various notebooks for started with lots of waiting. Memory keeping is very important to me and yet all the materials are dusty. Digital vs. paper planning is a constant conversation going on in my mind.
I wonder if I truly need a plan and/or focus for these different forms of writing.
Reading the prompt with the Sharing our Stories: Magic in a Blog reminded me maybe all of these ambitions are possible with habits. No wonder dusts has collected.
So, I dusted off a notebook system I've dabbled in previously.
I have three notebooks together in a sleeve holder; professional, personal, and a list notebook. I have a favorite pen and I'm ready for tomorrow. The habit I'm looking for is to put words on the page to help foster my different writing spaces.
Invitation accepted.
Love this habit and purpose behind it. So happy you dusted things off.
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued by the idea of a list notebook. I hope your three notebook system supports your writing habit. I blog regularly but my journal writing habit has not yet been as sustainable.
ReplyDeleteYour notebooks sound like travelers notebooks. I am considering buying one of those. I hope your notebook system has been successful!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
ReplyDeleteYay! I am happy you are writing.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of list notebook too. I can always find time to write a list. Then I can go back and use it to mine ideas. Thank yous
ReplyDeleteI love a good system for writing! It's so easy to let the habits slide.
