Why are they in the water?
Isn't the temperature chilly?
Can they move very fast?
Which is warmer the water or the air?
How long will they stay in the water?
Just some questions as I walk in the dark past a neighborhood pond early in the morning.

I've had those same questions when I pass a pond in the cold.
